Inclusive Employment: Benefits to Employers, Employees, w/Disabilities and the Community
Our October 13 meeting will feature Kristen Sheffield and Kiersten Lira of the Parents Alliance Employment Project (PAEP), Erin Hoving of District 87 Vocational Partners, and Julie Evans, of Disability Advocates Support Group and Facilitator, in recognition of October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM).
The discussion will provide an overview of inclusive employment and highlight the benefits it offers to businesses, employees with disabilities, and the broader community.
Topics will include:
Resources available to employers and employees
Successful examples of inclusive employers and employees
The benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities
Ways businesses can create more inclusive employment opportunities
Local resources and partnerships that support inclusive employment
The goal is to inform and encourage employers to recognize the value of hiring employees with disabilities and to provide practical resources for creating inclusive workplaces.
