Terry Poppleton, longtime resident of Glen Ellyn, takes the audience on a journey to another place and time. The location is the Four Corners region of the United States, and the time was a thousand years ago. The Glen Ellyn Historical Society presents Poppleton’s program on
Friday, May 17 at 7:00 PM in the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main Street, Glen Ellyn. On this journey, we will visit
such storied places as Chaco Canyon, Mesa Verde, and Hovenweep. Discover how this remarkable culture flourished, changed and survived in the challenging environment of the American Southwest.
Terry has lived in Glen Ellyn for 53 years and taught history for 33 years at Hadley Junior High School.
He has had a lifelong interest in Native Americans. Since his retirement, he and his wife, Sharon, have made many trips to the southwest and become interested in the archaeology of the Southwest.
