Friday, Feb. 9 at 7:00 PM, in the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main Street, Executive Director of the Glen Ellyn Historical Society, Jeffrey Anderson discusses how the symbiotic relationship between Abraham Lincoln’s political success and the circulation rise of the Chicago Tribune was connected. In 1855, Lincoln was an Illinois lawyer and politician. The Chicago Tribune was a small struggling newspaper. New leadership at the Tribune in the next 5 years helped both Lincoln and the newspaper rise in political power and influence. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for GEHS members and students.
