Have you ever felt ashamed of losing your temper when parenting gets tough? All parents and caregivers hope for calm interactions with their children. But losing it doesn’t equal “bad parenting,” and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Join us and learn how to embrace a different story – one that not only gives parents a more accurate picture of what’s actually happening but also one which provides a road map for habit change.

Participants will better understand the skill of self-compassion to cope with tough situations. From that place of compassion and forgiveness, parents will feel freer and more empowered to take the next steps toward becoming the kind of loving parent or caregiver that we all strive to be.

Carla Naumburg, PhD, LICSW, is a clinical social worker and writer. She is the author of four important non-judgmental, practical books including Ready, Set, Breathe: Practicing Mindfulness with Your Children for Fewer Meltdowns and a More Peaceful Family, and How to Stop Losing It With Your Kids. Her writing has appeared in a variety of online and print publications, including The New York TimesThe Washington Post, and The Huffington Post.
