Event Description:
The Glen Ellyn Historical Society presents an evening with the Grandson of St. James Farm Manager, Frank Schlick. The program is at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main Street and begins at 7:00 PM. St. James Farm has a long and rich history in DuPage County that stretches back over 180 years. Kevin Davis the grandson of Frank Schlick shares the background of the farm that includes the Chauncey and Brooks McCormick family. The Schlick’s were involved in the development of the farm and Davis shares the art, architecture and history of the farm. Since 2003, Davis has been a Volunteer Lead Researcher and Interpreter for St. James Farm Forest Preserve which is part of the DuPage County Forest preserve district. The lecture will include a photographic history as well as a personal and intimate overview of life on the farm. Admission is at the door, $5 adults, $3 members of the GEHS and students.
