Bridge Communities’ Celebrating Women, Transforming Lives is a beloved and highly anticipated spring luncheon to be held at Mesón Sabika on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Attendees will enjoy a welcome reception, a gourmet luncheon, and a moving program that recognizes and honors community changemakers and a Bridge graduate who exemplifies all that is possible through the Bridge program. A young adult whose family was in the Bridge program will also share their inspiring story. Hosted by ABC 7’s Judy Hsu, the event will recognize Assistance League Chicagoland West and Michelle Lufrano for their remarkable contributions to the community. Transforming Lives Award: Assistance League Chicagoland West Assistance League Chicagoland West has been transforming lives and strengthening community since 1935. Each year, their 400 plus members volunteer thousands of hours and touch the lives of thousands of residents in need across DuPage and western Cook counties. Their philanthropic programs support education and self-reliance, while fostering a connection and belonging focusing on improving childhood literacy, increasing school engagement, and encouraging post-high school education. They provide enrichment for families, along with opportunities, clothing and gifts for children and youth through their Operation School Bell. We are thrilled to present Assistance League Chicagoland West with the Transforming Lives Award. Life Transformed Award: Michelle Lufrano When Michelle Lufrano and her three children lost their home due to divorce, they found Bridge Communities. Michelle was provided the time to figure out what next steps she needed to improve the future for her family. Her hard work has paid off, and she will be graduating with her BSN in Nursing this year. Her children are thriving in their schools and extra-curricular activities. The whole family is working hard to achieve their goals and the future is bright. Michelle is passionate about sharing the Bridge mission and grateful for the support she received while she rebuilt her family’s lives. We are proud of all Michelle has accomplished and know she is well deserving of the Life Transformed Award. All donations at the event will be matched up to $20,000 thanks to our Matching Sponsor, Duly Health and Care's Charitable Fund.
